Senior Pastor/Chairman Director
Ps Wayne and Neita Lyons
Wayne and Neita have been married for over 44 years; they have two children Shawn and Belinda. Shawn and his wife Leah, have given Wayne and Neita four lovely grandchildren, Kaily, Benjamin, twin boys Connor and Elliot. Belinda and her husband Michael Aikon Mensah, have given Wayne and Neita a beautiful granddaughter, Ashanti Nana-Afia Aikon Mensah. Wayne and Neita’s family are all active in supporting the work of God at High Street Church Queanbeyan, where Wayne has been Senior Pastor for 24 years.
Wayne is also a Vietnam Veteran having served in the Australian Army in Vietnam 1970-1971. This has led him to also become a Chaplain to Veterans in the Canberra and Queanbeyan community. He is also ACT State Chaplain for the National Service Association and does special services for the Australia War Memorial, Pastor Wayne is also a Chaplain for 1Way FM. He likes to serve his community with the love of God, as Chaplain, Pastor and Carer.
A revivalist at heart, his church is active in reaching out to needy people with the Good News of Jesus Christ both locally, nationally and internationally. Wayne undertakes and leads regular team mission trips, he particularly likes to minister in developing countries where the need is greatest. He has had the privilege to minister all around India, Pakistan, Uganda, Kenya, Indonesia, Philippines, and Vietnam. He has also travelled to Israel, Turkey, Greece, Syria, Egypt to mention a few.
Wayne is passionate about ministering in the power and presence of the Holy Spirit. He regularly has God’s presence manifest in his meetings and loves to see people encounter the living God. He is a published author of the book "Spiritual Gifts and the Anointing". Wayne likes to relax by riding his Harley Davidson Springer and has a big heart for motor cyclists. Family time is the greatest joy for him and Neita.
Ps Derek and Jacqueline Bedson
Derek and Jacqueline are the newly appointed associate Pastors at High St Church.
Women’s Ministry Pastor/Director
Ps Heather Thompson
Heather has been actively involved with the church for many years and presently undertakes a range of administrative duties within the church.
She helps with "High Street Care" whose primary role is to provide emergency food support to the local community.
A mother of 4 and grandmother of 6, she is passionate in her service to God and thankful for the grace shown her in Christ.
